The Atmosphere and Climate Competence Center (ACCC)

CCEEL along with other UEF partners participates in the Atmosphere and Climate Competence Center (ACCC) , which is a Finnish Flagship working to address two of the most urgent global Grand Challenges: climate change and deteriorating air quality.

ACCC’s mission is to contribute toward achieving carbon neutrality in Finland, EU and global societies; and to provide the science behind air pollution in order to mitigate it and sustain a healthy atmosphere. ACCC is seeking to find ways to take CO2 out from the atmosphere and reliably verify it. ACCC assess the climate neutrality of mitigation measures and air quality management actions. Through the research, ACCC contributes to the solutions that help businesses reach the Paris climate targets, to mitigate and adapt to climate change, and thus support the EU Green Deal commitments and the UN sustainable development goals.
